Sure would be fun to be conference rivals again...

Now guys, please spare me the bashing... I know very well about the baby-eating we have done in the past as a fanbase... ; )

I see VT either ending up in the SEC, Big 12, or maybe, if your fortunes are forever tied to UVA now, perhaps staying in the ACC.

My belief is predicated on the ACC imploding as a FOOTBALL conference. Maybe this current crisis passes and the ACC survives and flourishes. I just think that is doubtful.

But the reason I came here is to say how much I personally miss the Virginia Tech rivalry. I hope it is able to be renewed in the future and I can't imagine a more exciting way than as conference rivals.

I know many on here have no use for WVU...and we have many fans that feel the same way. But as for me, give me a rivalry that matters against a WORTHY adversary and I'm happy. I still hold VT in that regard.

I appreciate your kind words and I do miss the rivalry. However, your fan base HATES the Hokies. So much so that safety is a serious concern. Now, if you do not agree, please wear Virginia Tech gear on any football weekend and walk through your stadium lots to see the reaction.

In 2001, BEFORE, the real hate started, I was there with my 3 sons. We have experienced the "drunk mountaineer fan" first hand. Never again. Sorry.

There is little doubt that behavior needed addressed...and I have been to Blacksburg and remember the volatility of that environment as well. It is a blood rivalry with some extra bad feelings mixed in. I believe there are ways to keep it safe and I remain hopeful that one day the game can be resurrected and that our shared feelings of disdain for each other can be expressed reasonably. ; )

it's laughable that WVU people are so convinced the ACC is "imploding." absolutely laughable.

He/she's referring to a documentary filmed in a small WV town about a family named White. It's absolutely entertaining. Four stars! Find it on Netflix.

That would be Jesco White (AKA the "Dancin' Outlaw") et.al. I've been by his place a few times when he was living in Prenter Hollow, but I think he may have moved to a more "luxurious" location a few hills over somewhere in the Madison area.
