gern on the river: day 2 of single sculling

Yup, the second day was sooooo much smoother than the first. I still totally suck but at least I got a couple good rows before minor issues happened and then I'd start over. My navigation skills still aren't there - just can't do it right especially when I look into the sun over my shoulder.

Sounds positive, no? Well, I flipped the boat twice. Wow that river was cold and the air was only upper 50s - can't imagine doing that closer to freezing. You may inquire as to the source of my roll, apparently when I get a little panicked and tired, I lean over to look where I'm going instead of twisting about vertical axis. Me and my boat then sought the most stable position... me soaking wet and the boat upside down.

Can't wait for the next time out!

    Just got back from Muldering.
I have come here to take Deer Antler Spray and win the Superbowl, and I'm all out of Deer Antler Spray.

That's something I've always wanted to get into. Not sure what my cranky aging Baby Boomer neck/shoulder and sacroilliac joint would think about it now, though.

Probably would be well received. My boss has a bad neck/upper back and his physio suggest rowing - suprisingly he hasn't had any recurrence since he started. You can pull as easy as you want, the water is always level (current may or may not be an issue depending on where you go).

You can always do what I did - find a learn to row regatta at the nearest club, sign up, and see how it goes.
