This may have been discussed and if so, I apologize. I had read on an NCAA site that a release from the LOI can be granted by the college. Once the release is signed by both parties, the recruit would not be allowed to play for the new school for the first year and they are charged with a loss of one season in all sports. Does this mean that when Harrell chooses another school, he only has 3 years of eligibility? If you are giving up a year of your eligibility, it seems that you would seriously consider staying with the school that signed you originally.
