As for storage of pictures/videos/other files, wouldn't concentrate on trying to find a computer with a large enough HD to handle your storage needs, but would instead buy an external HD for your storage needs.
You need enough RAM to handles whatever operating system you have, and a HD to handle all of the programs you intend to load.
