With the BE seeming to be officially falling off the map, is ESPN making us the new

    JV conference?

When I read about the new TV deal, which included Friday night games and a sponsor for the basketball tournament, I couldn't help but think that, while we definitely pulled a "survival of the fittest" over the Big East, that we've now become the new "worst of the best" conference.

Should we be prepared for more b-slapping from TV?

I can see all the conferences except the Big 10 and SEC playing slected Friday night games in the near future. I think the Pac 12 played a Friday night game or two last season? ESPN's goal to show at least 1 college football game every night of the week from Labor Day through early December. (I wish this was TIC.)

Pac12's new deal definitely included Friday night football (every week on Fox, i believe). ESPN wants to be able to go head to head with Fox, so yes, i would expect some Big12 football in there with their new deal, too. Thursday will soon belong to the NFL.

Worst of the best in football most years, yes. Among the best of the best in basketball each year, too (although for some reason this has fallen off recently, too).

personally, I think you can throw a blanket over ACC/P10/B12/B10 the last 10 years. Where you put people will vary wildly but there probably isn't that big a difference between the 4 in many respects.

Quality of play, maybe, but I really doubt the Big Ten will be playing on Fridays.
