The Hokies were seeded 14th. FOURTEENTH!? Holy crap. No respect I tell ya but you have to earn respect and the Hokies have a great opportunity to do that very thing on Monday. #14 VT drew #3 BYU in the first round slated to play at 4:30 Monday, 14 May in Greenville, SC.

Brigham Young is ranked #2 in the last regular season MCLA Nike National Coaches Poll. VT is ranked #11. They've played an impressive schedule and are highly ranked every year, they're very good. At 16-3 over all, they've played 6 of the top 10 in the final poll:

#1 Cal Poly
#3 Colorado State (x2)
#4 Chapman
#6 Oregon
#8 Arizona
#9 Colorado
#24 Simon Frazier

Tech has played a solid schedule of their own playing half dozen ranked teams this year also. The final poll for those teams is not as impressive however:

#7 SUNY Buffalo
#15 Connecticut
#19 Georgia
#20 Clemson
#23 Florida State (x2)

Tech also played #12 Boston Unv but they fell out of the top 25 by year's end. Of the listed teams above, the Hokies manged a 5-1 record only losing to SUNY Buffalo by two after slapping them around in the first half to the tune of 5-0. If you count Boston, that's 6-1. I'm excited about this game.
