    Have I missed something or is this old news....

    In addition to what hokie83 mentioned, remember a couple of other things: There are 4 people being hired rather than the usual one..And, with a greater number of hires you want to dot all your "i's" and cross all your "t's"..Thats not just idle chatter either...

    Just a couple of years ago Virginia Tech almost hired an assistant that as it turned out had not graduated from college..Even though he was a veteran assistant and had worked at a number of schools, being employed at that time in a power conference...There is a reason that you go through the process, so that you can catch instances like this. If the names get out prematurely, then you find out something like that, you have to explain what happened and in the instance of this particular coach, you would have essentially been ending his college coaching career...So you discover it during the vetting process, you tell him why you cant hire him and leave that obstacle for his next employer to discover....And very few people knew about it in the first place..

    Good points as always Rev, not trying to rush them but it would be nice to close the loop on the staff and get the program moving forward with some momentum
