    i like how they think a lot of buttons, patches, ties, and epaulettes make them think that improves their perception with the public.

    Those accessories are there to protect the people from criminals impersonating police officers, dumb-dumb. If the uniform was just a plain shirt with nothing else, people would impersonate an officer all the time.
