When my boys were younger, I was a more nervous flyer. When I flew and heard strange noises, I would look at the flight attendants. As long as they were calm, I was OK.

The crazy guy who lives with me and I were flying out of Charlotte with our ski club to Denver. The plane was full, tons of luggage and equipment, full fuel. Soon after we took off, the flight attendants were walking around and all the passengers noticed that we were doing a 360 because of the sun shining in the windows. None of the flight attendants knew we were turning around until we asked about it. Then the pilot told us to 'disregard all of the fire engines lining the runway'. Engine overheated and we had to land with one. He did a great job. Now, I look for another pilot flying off-duty to watch.
