of his tenure might not come here now. Even if you wanted Seth gone do you guys really think our hoops will emerge from this IMPROVED versus the status quo. If Weaver had dropped dead last week, there may have been a chance. You people KNOW damn well he'll mangle this hire!

Blame Seth not Weaver. I don't think one insider has come to Seth's defense. The timing is terrible for sure, and the program will pay a steep price for it.

To be fair, most of the insiders are employees of the athletic department. They aren't going to come out publicly saying their boss (Slim Jim) was wrong.

I don't think his mind is affected at all, just his body. He's always been a bean counter and kept VT solvent when many around the country are not. Do I think this was handled well? No, and perhaps it's time to retire, but this is not the first time he's fired a basketball coach in a less than tactful manner.

No we don't know that. After reading his reasoning and looking at having all four basketball assistants leave, Weaver made the only choice that makes any sense. In fact the consistant turn over in assistants can now be seen in a new light.
Short term we'll probably suffer but in the long run it is by far the best thing that could have happened. Weaver showed good judgement in reraching this decision.
I'm looking forward to our new coach.I don't always talk to UVa Grads but when I do I always order the Large Fries.

Before making an asinine comment like that do some research its just offensive to people with a debilitating disease like parkinson's for you to make a comment that has no grounding whatsoever in truth. He might have been an idiot before it, but parkinson's has done nothing to further handicap his mind

Does this really MATTER? Do we want a basketball coach or a bass fisherman? What I really liked about Seth is that he and his teams had the attitude that they were going to look for the biggest guy in the bar and take him on. The way we'd go into C-Hell or Durham looking to slay the dragon in it's lair was a thing of beauty. I really felt like Duke and the Heels FEARED us ... more so than any other team in the league. That, by itself was a great achievement. It will be very hard to find a coach that did better against the top teams than Seth.
