just expect us to be able to go pick whoever we want, and have them come here. was just having this argument with someone who said anyone would be better than greenberg...i'm sorry but i do remember the times before SG...and no matter how bad we looked offensively, we could do 1000 times worse.

I'm happy with the move...but I don't think it's a lock that we get whomever we want...just by offering the position up. We will have to pay...and in my opinion...we will.

Isn't it apparent that the administration knew they were going to fire Seth, so it probably was not a top priority to give all of the assistants raises after a losing season?
Since the assistants left, they have raised all of the pay for assiatnt coaches......and fired Seth.....they were setting the table for a new crew to come in......"Don't give up......Don't ever give up." -- Jimmy V

No, they fired Seth because he and Weaver don't see eye to eye. With all the vacancies on staff...it made sense to do it now...and not prolong whatever was going on between the two of them and potentially double the cost associated with the staff. In my opinion...I think the pressure to move the basketball program forward is now upon Mr. Weaver. You get what you pay for. To move it forward...we'll have to pay more. Weaver HAS to!

Nope. Just my opinion. The real money issue from yesterday though...wasn't/isn't salaries for the assistants. It was more about paying for a new staff now...waiting a year to fire Seth...and then having to pay for a SECOND new staff when your new guy comes in.

We will be fine. Sure, if the coaching search is done properly, we may get turned down five or six times. Welcome to coaching searches......however, in the end, let's just hope that we land someone with a lot of promise and can do with Hokie basketball what Seth Greenberg could not........I suspect that we will find that guy......
