Yes, recruits and their parents sometimes do check out this board. There was a time when posters on this board had some common sense discretion about what to post on this board. No longer. Seth haters (most of whom have no clue) have overrun this board. Now anything goes, especially if it is negative about Seth, irregardless of whether it is damaging to the VT bball program. And posting that Seth has personality issues is very borderline TOS violation, IMO. If I posted that a poster here has personality issues, it would be probably be determined to be a TOS violation. If that's the case, then why is it not a TOS violation when it pertains to Seth?

Personally, as I have stated before, I don't really care about CSG's personality or in-game demeaner. He is who he is. However, I can tell you as a fact, that some people within the athletic department have not been able to stand CSG since he walked on campus. This dates back to my time in grad school (and working at the school/Town of Blacksburg). I did not care to get into why or any specifics with people because, frankly, I did not care; however, he has rubbed people working in the athletic department the wrong way for years..........maybe not all, but definitely some...........
Now, you can sit here and say I am lying or whatever, but I don't really see why this is big news to anyone. It has been said multiple times on here before, and confirmed by many. So when people say that players or coaches may be leaving because it is difficult to work with Seth, it is not an absurd thought that should be thrown out immediately.
After a while, it is hard to keep putting a "positive" spin on a disturbing trend........."Don't give up......Don't ever give up." -- Jimmy V

Had two roommates who worked for the athletic department while in school. Both said Seth had an extremely abrasive personality, swears and yells all practice. From the stories I've heard, I'm not sure I could deal with it day in, day out.

Which is a fascinating mindset for me. Of all the varying entities involved in this "situation" and the varying levels of "blame" that could be doled out, there seems to be a very vocal faction of people who want to put the most amount of "blame" on the entity that has the least actual impact on what's happening on the court.

Which by itself probably wouldn't be that big of a deal. There's plenty of very successful coaches out there with similar personalities. The problem comes when the level of success isn't or is no longer enough to cover for that behavior. If you're winning games and making the tournament, no one cares about that stuff. When you're not, those issues become bigger and bigger. Fair or not, it's just how things work, it's human nature...Who are you talking to? 'Reply with Quote' is your friend...

A better question is: What's the purpose of a public message board? Give that one some thought, and your initial question might be answered.

If you're that unhappy with this board, why are you always reading and posting?
