Single Sign-On still not working on Firefox for me Will.

This is the most annoying point of the new board. If I want to post a reply or even read the most updated list in my view, I have to click on Subs board to sign in. This is even after I have signed in on the top right. The two systems are not communicating properly on firefox. I am assuming this has something to do with cookies and browsing privacy, but I do accept ALL third party cookies, however I do not cache user credentials, history, etc.

Will. My suggestion is to add a "Login" link specifically for the forum next to the search bar or the "Forum" tab. Additionally, if you could add the "reply" or "Post" option for those non-logged in users, which would first redirect to a user login, like on the old site, that would be perfect as well.

In a separate suggestion, how about a small real-time chatbox at the time. I've seen a lot of Vbulletins incorporating this, and it might help bring up the visitor level if people can just log in, and sit there and chat about things. Works for the bodybuilding.com forums.

Have no idea why but Firefox works for me in regards to the sign on process. I don't have to do it unless I've cleared the cookies or run a scan.

What versions of Firefox are you guys running? I'm running 3.6.28.

Hey Gotham, the programmer thinks he has fixed this. He says:

I found the issue with the session cookie problem. aMember was not using the correct domain for the code that integrates with vbulletin. This is now integrated correctly and works like a charm for me. I would be interested to see if Gotham Hokie has better results now.
So, let me know how it goes.

I think this is one of our biggest pains in the butt with the new system. It doesn't work for me, either. I bring it up with the programmer and site host, and I get "show me someone who can consistently reproduce [the problem]."

I get that, but it's not consistent. It's giving me trouble, but it's not reproduce-able on command.

Will, I think I've identified the problem.

I think unless you go to www.techsideline.com .. the actual home page, and login, the single-sign on doesn't work.

If you go directory to www.techsideline.com/forums as I do, and try to click on the login on the upper right, it will still require you to sign in to the forum if you want to reply or access member areas.

I think it's an issue with cookie generation. I believe the login module at the top right in the forums view is not creating a cookie.

Private mode or not, if I allow third party cookies until they expire, and I go to the home page to login before going to the forums, Single Sign On works just fine. If I go directly to the forums, and use the right hand login, it makes me log in again before I can post or access the subs areas. I think it's a problem with cookie generation from the upper right login in the forums view.

It would appear going to the Forums list and trying to sign on there via the upper right hand login link will break single sign on, even if you try to go back to the homepage and do it.

This might take some time to process, but it should show you the scenarios (1080p):
