Say you make $75k. an equivalent bonus to a $1,500,000 salary is $75. Would you try to earn a $75 incentive? I bet you would.
If I knew it might cost me $1500-$3000 to earn that $75? Not a chance. The money is just a token. It was stupid to assign money to that. That being said, the guys who would head hunt would do so for free. That's what nobody is discussing. If I made a million a year,$1500 wouldn't get me to skip lunch. Not if I knew I might be benched for a week or two or three.
