It will be interesting, since while Syracuse/Pitt were ostensibly brought in for football, Syracuse is a much more traditional basketball power that the press loves compared to VT/Miami/BC/FSU, so it's harder to ignore them. A very underrated fact in Cuse's favor is that a ton of sportswriters came from there. It's part of the reason that the impending move and Big East implosion has been much more complained about compared to other conference expansions. Sportswriters love Syracuse and the accompanying Big East rivalries and tournament. So I think the best result is that Syracuse getting jobbed out of some wins or an ACCT will resonate much more nationally than NC State or VT losing on some questionable calls.

But honestly I'm not sure what will shift the balance. For the ACC-focused press, the Greensboro-based conference leadership on down there are decades of clout built up behind UNC and Duke in basketball. It will take a lot to undo that.
