You forgot whining about all of the whining. And I just made my own list. Seriously, as long as there is whining about NCAA appearances with no provision for reasons we don't make the selection, I believe the whining needs to be fair and balanced.

Does "bullish" mean you expect NCAAs the next couple or more seasons?

I don't judge our team on NCAA appearances anymore, that's out of our control. However, I do expect they will make it at least one of the next two years. I am more interested in more top four regular season ACC finishes and a run to the ACC tourney final.

Great post. I fully agree. I think this team is very close to being a very good basketball team.

NCAA appearances being "out of our control" is a myth. With a good enough resume to stay off the bubble there's no chance we get left out.

I am referring to the fact that other teams are allowed to get in from "the bubble." VT has never done so in NCAA history. We have to be a 7 or 8 seed to get in. That is what it is, but I am not going to judge my coach by a measure that is different for VT than it is for nearly every other team in his conference.

Agree, only 3-4 ACC teams are going to the NCAA. So to beat out at least 8 other ACC teams and have some significant OOC wins early in the year is a tall order for a school with no real hoops tradition. We are close and hopefully can do it a few years in a row at some point in order to attract the talent needed to be a consistent top 30 team. But, next year may be too soon. We still won't have depth even if starters all step up their games. Bullish next year is 20 wins.

How is making NCAA tourney out of VTs control? Win games, play decent or good competition, beat the teams you are supposed to beat, win some of the toss up games, win some on the road; it's really that simple. VT has yet to do enough of any of this to warrant solid consideration for being in

VT hasn't gotten in from the bubble becasue they weren't good enough comparatively speaking those years. It's really that simple.

    Right on! Stop the whining!
