    Are you "prepping"?

So, I really enjoy the NatGeo show "Doomsday Preppers". Most episodes, I end up deciding the featured people are somewhere between 85%-95% batpoop crazy, but its still a good show and I still think they may be on to something...if not a bit over the top. Anyway, who out there is "prepping", and to what degree?

Each and every one of my coworkers keeps buying more and more ammo for their guns. They wouldn't admit they are, but I think that subconsciously, absolutely they are. They're also fearful of Obama getting reelected and taking away their guns. Note: I'm not stating any political case or arguing for or against, merely stating my coworkers stance.

Nothing wrong with buying more and more ammo....or more and more guns for that matter. Impossible to have too much.

I'm just stating that they are. I agree that more ammo is better. I'd find it difficult to explain why you need 1,000 rounds of 9mm ammo if you have a single 9mm pistol. See my point? If you think of it as an investment, you could probably get a better return elsewhere.

I've watched that show a couple of times and agree with your assessment of "batpoop crazy". It is entertaining though. I didn't know that if you coat your eggs in the shell with lard that they would last 9 months.

The thing I think of though is that they'll be all prepared, but what will they do when starving children come to their door? Turn them away? I think if everyone is dying then I'd just rather die with them. Maybe I'll just collect a whole bunch of beer and wine and throw a heckuva end of the world party!

I thought it was mineral oil on the eggs? My thought was that they were making the eggs toxic.....
