this year was an exception, not a rule. rarely does a #1 or #2 team play that kind of schedule and remain at #1 or #2. while i feel bad for LSU, the fact is, that's not common. also, because polls are 2/3 of the current process, with 120 teams, bias plays WAY too much of a part in the rankings. personally, i think the 'best' way to handle the post season would be 10 conference champs (reg season champs, no championship games unless they are simply used as a tie-breaker) with the top 6 getting a bye because that would eliminate ALL bias from the process, but that ain't happenin...
