Very curious to see how Peter Jax divides (and/or adds to) J.R.R.R.R.Tolken's
The Hobbit into 2 flicks...
What will he add as story engine drivers go (if anything)? I'n not want to be a strictfied cannon-nazi. All I ask if if you insist upon taking stroy-line liberties; I insist that you commit (or omit) things that are actually good and or helpful. You do that and it's all good. Ergo, will he import any characters from LOTR's to jazz things up? Will he mess with the book(s) time-line? Other?
How will he divide (read: split) the story-line itself; which does prolly have enough material for 2 movies indeed. Although backtracking (prequels) typically are a steep hill to climb this side of The Godfather II.
Other:
Also wanna see Battleship.
Any movie that has Iowa class 16`` guns brought outta mothballs and recommissioned to away on space-alien invaders has some real live swag' with me.

I'm with you on this one. That's what was so good about LOTR - Jackson wasn't afraid to make changes, and even for die-hards like me they made the story better. I'd love to see him work some more of the background history into it this time, and with two movies covering a pretty short time-frame I'd say that's doable. If nothing else I just want to see what he does with Smaug.

It is basically a book begging to be turned into a movie, so I'm looking forward to seeing how they adapt everything visually. Agree that the first couple trailers I've seen have been impressive.
Of course, it's basically a book (series) comprised of movies/books/stories that have been done before. Wife loved them all, so I'll end up seeing them all, but I was less impressed with the second two in the series.
