If you scour team sports over the globe, is van Persie the best player out there simply carrying a team? I am not sure but if this Milan-Arsenal game (replay) is any kind of indicator, and it sure seems consistent with their play this season, then he single-handedly is probably the source of 2/3 of their wins this year. Not sure I've seen another team that is *that* unbalanced.
On a side note, their defense is just bad... I've never heard an announcer say "he's a good kid but he doesn't belong at this level or even EPL" regarding Djourou. Oh well, I am sure Arsene will sell him for a 12-yo prodigy in venezuela.

I've reread this post several times...stared at it for several minutes now. I'm disappointed that I can't muster any sort of response. Clearly, you deserve some sort of reprimand...a strong one...but I've got nothing. This may be the first post in lounge history to make me feel this way. This sort of thing would never have happened on the "old noard"....

he's gone at end of the year. if arsenal doesn't spend the 25mil and 35mil pounds for nasri and fabregas, respectively, last season, i can't see them opening the purse strings playing in the europa league next season. then again, i'm not sure wenger is the guy i'd want buying people anyway.

It's my fault...
I just started watching EPL thanks to my son loving soccer. He latched on to Everton due to Tim Howard. I started following Arsenal. Blame Me!

Can't see him sticking around to play with this group of stiffs.
Arsenal looked like it had some life in it for a while there and limped back into 4th place but I see that about to collapse here in short order. Their defense is non-existent, and their mid-field play isn't much better. When you replace Febregas and Nasri with chumps like Arteta, Gerviho, et al, don't be surprised with the results. I think the two owners are trying to extract as much profit as they can this year before the bottom falls out. It's a crime. RVP is all they have and his body language over the past 4-5 matches says he's out the door.
Djourou doesn't belong in the EPL. Neither does Roscinsky, Arshavin, Chamkah, etc...
BTW, tough match against Stevenage today...
