Just from my experience with my grandmother who has dementia. By the time we went for a POA she couldn't even tell who the President was etc and the 3 lawyers we talked to said it would not hold up in court if challenged.
Agree... getting that POA is one of the first things that should be done when a person is diagnosed with Alzheimers.
