Come on now, Groff. I was with you lock-step every step of the way until this post right here. The very strong implication (based on context) of your position is that VT needs to play itself off of the bubble and into the field by not losing games they should win. Frankly, I agree. But, in order to do that, VT needs to be around the Top 30. I also agree that you aren't saying that VT should do that "every year". I understand your point (which I agree with, by the way) to be that VT basketball under Seth Greenberg has failed to make the NCAA tournament in seasons where we did have the talent and experience to do so, because we have not played ourselves into the tournament field as a lock. It's ok for someone to challenge that position and claim that VT is closer to being in that position now than they have been and that they are seeing improvement in the program as a whole under Greenberg. I believe the true nature of the "disagreement" here is that you are disappointed that VT failed to be in the NCAA's a few times over the past years and see it as an emerging trend and others are encouraged by how close VT has been and see it as the beginning of a potential uptick. Time will tell...
That said; I do agree that anyone suggesting that you are saying VT should be in the tourney "every year" is putting words in your mouth.
