Paper this morning and just wondered what the reaction to it would be on here. I don't see it.
The letter basically stated that VT women deserved much more than they are getting from Jim Weaver and, not so much against the person of Coach Wolfe but the way he was hired was a loud public statement that VT does not care about WBB. The writer commented that his first thought was "Wow JW put no effort into this at all."
It seemed to me that "effort" to him would have been a public national search over weeks if not months to "find" that high energy, future before them coach.
What do you guys think?
Was it, IYHO no or very little effort by Weaver? Or was in more that Weaver had put in a lot more effort testing the waters and looking for that high energy, future in front of them coach over the last couple of years than any of us know but that "search" was behind the scenes? The result being that bringing in Coach Wolfe for the year as a "Coach in Waiting" was a better option than trying a 2nd, more public search again after Beth was officially gone.
I don't think anyone can say that JW didn't know that Beth would be gone a couple of years before she actually left. So was this a much better search than it appeared to be? Or do you think moving Coach Wolfe was a no effort after thought?
