They did have an advantage in who they could recruit though. UL had no standards. They took anyone they wanted. What I was getting at though was that I think Moir would have been able to recruit better in the ACC. The simple reason being that is what most Hokies wanted.

IMHO, Moir's downfall was winning the Metro tournament in our first year. The powers that be in Burruss and who wrote the checks did not like it that he could not repeat that feat. There was pressure to change it. That is how we wound up with Russell Pierre and Johnny Forte. Moir was absolved of wrongdoing. He was the scapegoat that got canned. I blame Lavery that situation and his response. Lavery made VT a laughingstock in NCAA Mens BB. We are still paying for it.

I also agree with you that Moirs teams would have run the best of any coach since clean off the floor.
UL wasn't called the "Doctors of Flunk" for nothing! Those were some great, great times in the Cassell though.
