he has great intentions to try to generate interest among the students, but many are taking it in a negative manner.
I was talking with three students yesterday (they work for me at VT), and they all stated that it comes across as Seth fussing at them for not being good fans. Students are different than in years past with so many more options available for them. Students treat football as a Saturday/Thursday night social event, because of the standard schedule. Basketball's schedule is all over the place which makes games on every night of the week.
Another real concern for the students is where they seat the students. If students were given seats like they do at Duke you would see Cassell be a home court advantage like it was 30 years ago.

Chicken - Egg?
Why would you give them the best seats in the house when those seats would just be empty because they only come to 3-4 games a year? Besides, those are good seats right by the court. I had the corner over there for years. Tons of schools seat their students in the end so they can have an impact on free throw shooting, etc. Just whining IMO.

What is college basketball for, the students or everyone else? Treat the students good and they will show up.

I give Greenberg credit for at least caring. Did previous coaches ask students to attend games and support their team? I sometimes complain about Greenberg's unproductive offenses but I can find no fault in his passion for his job and the game of basketball. It's tough being a basketball coach at a football school. It seems like playing in the ACC should be enough to get students in the seats. I wish Tech were playing in the ACC when I was a student back in the 1980's.

Pretty disappointed in the overall student support of basketball. Outside of the "Castle Guard," student attendence at games just sucks! Can't believe support is so low for us while we're in the ACC...heck, we packed the house when I was a student and we just dreamed about being in the ACC.
I never thought I would see the day when VT student support was this low. Is this a reflection on our coach, or the student body as a whole? I'm guessing the latter..."You start a conversation you can't even finish it
