What was epic was my four straight days of curling. Two hours of practice on Wednesday, and three straight (different) league wins. I was dead beat on Sunday, curling's a lot of work. Subbed for one league as lead, set up a beauty guard, then a nice draw behind it, only to have the 2nd and vice screw it all up. but played better and better over the 3 days, guess keeping that stuff fresh in my head despite being tired. Only three more weeks. it's been fun.

March pretty much is championship month, Canada's Brier concludes today, http://www.curling.ca/championships/brier/ World championships are coming up, (OK, early April) even our club is having a spiel this week to be followed late in the month by the cherry blossom bonspiel and the Rotary Worlds first week in April.

Curling pretty much has to have a "March Madness" before the weather gets too warm.Curlingwomen.jpg

Incidentally, that was a darned good shot.

Pretty good night, best I've played this year, hope I can keep it up, ended the night with three consecutive take-outs, pretty awesome (for me). Three b/c our vice skip couldn't make it which put us in a bind in the playoff game, a three man team. We were the two seed but lost to the three seed in a skips throws which is basically a tie-breaker. Usually our guy is real solid on that, especially after the other team got it barely in the 12-foot, amazed he missed, usually wins games that way.

Oh well, felt pretty good, actually in a play-off game with people watching, even in a "friendly" league it's kind of fun to feel that competitive blood flowing.

    I'll be awake for awhile.

It's getting harder and harder to figure out where people posted to bring this one back up...

but since it's up, curled today at noon, a full 8 ends. played OK. I was conflicted though with the warm weather outside, as in, our screwed up league schedule has us take a break for two weeks while they play bonspiels at our club (Hey, F4E, coming for the Rotarians?) you do kinda want to play that last game and playoff game (guaranteed for us with a 6-2 record) like right now and be done, don't want to stay in a holding pattern. it's been a lot of fun, but ready to switch over to outdoor stuff, especially with this 70 degree weather. good curling! (shakes hands)

Thanks for reminding me. I had almost forgotten it until you brought it up. And thanks to you, I now have added "post to curling thread" to my Google calendar so I won't ever forget to do it again. Cheers!
