I think it's ridiculous you're not willing to acknowledge the circumstances of last year, given how ridiculously close we were to making the tourney. If I chose to quantify the results, I'd count that the same as making the tourney. A NCAA committee's arbitrary decision doesn't take away the great coaching job done last year.

So that gets Seth another 3-4 years to get another bid in my book, unless the program suddenly craters. I'm not an AD so I don't have to worry about revenue or attendance.

What I think is interesting is that a) you acknowledge the Tournament Appearances are a metric, and b) It's actually the only metric that you provide. Because everyone's been yelling at me and people who think like me for years now that actually making the tournament doesn't actually matter, but when pressed to give me what does matter, all you can give me is tournament appearances.

We actually agree on the metric, it seems, we just disagree on the thresholds. You think that 2 tournament appearances in 13 years is acceptable while my threshold is a little bit higher. That actually leads into an interesting question. If after the next 4 years, SG makes one Tournament appearance, is another 9 years between appearances acceptable or does the bar get raised? Like her gets another four to get one, but then after that he needs at least one every four?
