I mean, keep a running tally. We called Play 1, and got 6, 7, 9, and 5 yards each time.
We called Play 2 and got 1, -1, -4, and 2 yards.
When they ran this defense, the results were...When they ran that defense, the results were...
Chart each play call vs. the defense they ran against it and what the results were. There's gotta be a way to chart that during the game for a quick reference so that by the 2nd half you can see what works and what doesn't.
I guess I'd always just assumed our coaching staff had some way of doing that during the game, but maybe it's a bad assumption?
