Only if they are tightly restricted in size. And people are banned for setting NSFW avatars.

I vote for no avatars, they are annoying, clutter the page and delay page loads. Plus the only way to police NSFW avatars is for Will/Chris to manually review EVERY SINGLE ONE. I vote no!

I really like the new format of this site, and the forums especially. It's great to be able to just load a page and read the thread without clicking on each post. This is a huge plus on an iPhone or iPad!
I also vote for no avatars. I think the clean look of the board is a better format. Avatars and pics and tickers, etc. in signatures really bothers me on other sites.
