Yep. I refused to even watch it. Screw ESPN and their pimped up re-match. Oklahoma State gets my #1 vote.

    If I had one.

Yep, I had that same thought. Saban coached that game like we all expect Beamer to. Take the points, trust the defense.

Why blame ESPN? The system was created by the schools themselves. ESPN just brings the cash and cameras. I'm sure if there was a playoff system, ESPN wouldn't mind and would gladly pay boatloads to televise it.

Nah, Alabama dominated the championship game. They deserve the championship.

ESPN flogged the hell out of a rematch, plays favorites, employs a bunch of willfully ignorant d-bags etc. They do a nice job with live coverage but the rest...

With all due respect, why dog ESPN for "pimping" up the rematch? They're in business to draw as many viewers as possible so they can make money.

ESPN had the broadcast rights to the game and they wanted a rematch, so the night of the first Bama-LSU game they went to work right away pushing for a rematch, influencing the voters in any way imaginable, to get Bama into the title game. If the ESPN Flapping Gums had been truly objective throughout November, Oklahoma State would have played LSU last night. The final BCS rankings were close enough to convince me of that.

So, yes... I blame ESPN for shoving a crappy rematch at us when we could have had a new game played between two teams that had yet to play each other.

the criticism is that ESPN advocated FOR a rematch directly after the first game

Because they have lost their objectivity. I wouldn't have minded their pimping if they had waited until AFTER the final BCS rankings came out to start pimping. But because they pushed for the rematch throughout the ENTIRE MONTH OF NOVEMBER, they unquestionably influenced the voters and got the rematch and cost Oklahoma State a legitimate title shot.
