Countdown to ACC Kickoff, No. 24: Donaldven Manning
The ACC Kickoff (aka media days) is fast approaching. I’ll be using the blog to count down to what we media members consider the unofficial start of the football season. That includes players and coaches from both Virginia Tech and, occasionally, a few of its opponents. -

In many recent seasons, ACC’s football playoff chances would have been nil
Little in Washington, D.C., transpires on time or as expected. But if a group of 12 university presidents meeting in the nation’s capital Tuesday can agree, major college football will have its first playoff, a four-team bracket, starting in 2014. -
Schedule analysis: Virginia Tech
Take your pick between Sept. 3 versus the Jackets, Oct. 20 at Clemson, or Nov. 8 against Florida State. -
