Baseball: Former Poquoson High standout Chad Pinder scored a run and drove in two more to help Virginia Tech beat Boston College 8-4, completing a sweep of the three-game series. Mini-scrimmage shows Virginia Tech’s offense remains work in progress
After the Hokies went through their first mini-scrimmage of the spring Wednesday night, offensive coordinator Bryan Stinespring stood in front of his unit to deliver a message reminding them of the work that lay ahead. Virginia Tech is getting acclimated with an all-new supporting cast around quarterback Logan Thomas, and during the 47-play dress rehearsal at Lane Stadium that was closed to the media, apparently that inexperience showed. -
Price tag for Virginia Tech’s Sugar Bowl trip: $3.18 million
I wrote a story for today’s paper after getting Virginia Tech’s bowl expense report. The final price tag for an eight-day trip to New Orleans for the Sugar Bowl came out to $3.18 million. -
