Blacksburg, VA - Virginia Tech took advantage of two Furman turnovers to create two short touchdown drives in the third quarter, then coasted to a 24-7 win. The victory makes the Hokies 1-1 on the season as they head into next weekend’s big ACC matchup with the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. more >>

Sean Glennon might effectively be at the end of his college career. He's going to play against Furman, but beyond that, what can he expect? Frank Beamer didn't pull the redshirt from Tyrod Taylor without great thought, and I figure Beamer intends to use TT heavily for the rest of the season. This might be the end of the line for Glennon ... and one can only hope that it's the end of the line for the bitterness and venom that has often been aimed his way. more >>
Top wide receiver recruit Justin Brown has had a busy week, and not just on the field in preparing for his team's regular season opener. The 6-3, 205-pound Concord (Wilmington, DE) standout has already received double-digit phone calls from college recruiters this week, which is the first week Division 1A coaches may phone 2009 recruits this fall. more >>
Chris Miller returns with ACC previews and predictions for this weekend's action, headlined in conference by BC vs. Georgia Tech and out of conference by Miami vs. Florida. more >>
There will be no "Keys to the Game/Matchups to Watch" article this week, primarily because there is little to no game film on Furman for TSL football analyst Phil Martin to review. However, we've got a special treat for you. Raleigh Hokie joins us in a special Q&A session to talk about how Virginia Tech should use Tyrod Taylor, and whether or not the two quarterback system should be a thing of the past. more >>
DeAntre Rhodes and the Varina Blue Devils turned in a fantastic performance last Friday, soundly defeating a GW-Danville team featuring top senior running back David Wilson. Rhodes, a 6-3, 265-pound defensive tackle/offensive guard, showed why he is also considered a top in-state prospect in the 2009 class. more >>

Virginia Tech welcomes the Furman Paladins to Lane Stadium on Saturday afternoon. Furman is one of the best 1-AA programs in the southeast, and they have put a major scare into some 1-A teams over the past few years. This one isn't likely to be nearly as much of a walkover as most 1-AA opponents are. The Hokies will need to come to play. more >>
In this latest edition, Chris Coleman and Jerry covered the Tyrod Taylor redshirt story, which broke just before the two of them went on the air yesterday. New head coach Chris Scott has guided Ocean Lakes (Virginia Beach, VA) to two consecutive wins in its first two games of the 2008 season.
